For my fourth idea I decided to base it on evoltuion and came up witht he idea of creating concept art pieces (inspired by --- work) of human history starting from say the caveman times to curent day and then even past that and into the future, with my final concept piece being of the worlds end. I decided I could do six concept piece and the main timelines I have chosen are the Stone Age, Viking Age, 1700-1800s with pirates and cowboys, the 1900s for world war, Digital Age (Current day), the future and the end of the world.

Stone Age
The Stone Age was a broad prehistoric period during which stone was widely used to make implements with a sharp edge, a point, or a percussion surface. The period lasted roughly 3.4 million years, and ended between 6000 BCE and 2000 BCE with the advent of metalworkingStone Age artifacts include tools used by modern humans and by their predecessor species in the genus Homo, and possibly by the earlier partly contemporaneous genera Australopithecus and Paranthropus. Bone tools were used during this period as well but are rarely preserved in the archaeological record. The Stone Age is further subdivided by the types of stone tools in use. cavmen
Bronze Age
Anacient Egypt
Ancient Egypt was a civilization of ancient Northeastern Africa, concentrated along the lower reaches of the Nile River in what is now the modern country of Egypt. It is one of six civilizations globally to arise independently. Egyptian civilization followed prehistoric Egypt and coalesced around 3150 BC (according to conventional Egyptian chronology) with the political unification of Upper and Lower Egypt under the first pharaoh Narmer (commonly referred to as Menes). The earliest known Egyptian pyramids are found at Saqqara, northwest of Memphis. The earliest among these is the Pyramid of Djoser (constructed 2630 BC–2611 BC) which was built during the third dynasty.
Mycenaean Greece
Mycenaean Greece refers to the last phase of the Bronze Age in Ancient Greece (c. 1600–1100 BCE). It represents the first advanced civilization in mainlandGreece, with its palatial states, urban organization, works of art and writing system.
Viking Age
The Viking Age is the period A.D. 793–1066 in European history, especially Northern European and Scandinavian history, following the Germanic Iron Age. It is the period of history when Scandinavian Norsemen explored Europe by its seas and rivers for trade, raids and conquest. In this period, the Norsemen settled in Norse Greenland, Newfoundland, and present-day Faroe Islands, Iceland, Normandy, Scotland, England, Ukraine, Ireland, Russia, Germany, and Anatolia. Though Vikingtravellers and colonists were seen at many points in history as brutal raiders, many historical documents suggest that their invasion of other countries was retaliation in response to the encroachment upon tribal lands by Christian missionaries. Information about the Viking Age is drawn largely from what was written about the Vikings by their enemies, and primary sources of archaeology, supplied with secondary sources like the Icelandic Sagas.
Middle Ages
In European history, the Middle Ages or medieval period lasted from the 5th to the 15th century. It began with the collapse of the Western Roman Empireand merged into the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery. The Middle Ages is the middle period of the three traditional divisions of Western history:Antiquity, Medieval period, and Modern period. The Medieval period is itself subdivided into the Early, the High, and the Late Middle Ages. The Roman Empire reached its greatest territorial extent during the 2nd century AD; the following two centuries witnessed the slow decline of Roman control over its outlying territories. Economic issues, including inflation, and external pressure on the frontiers combined to make the 3rd century politically unstable, with emperors coming to the throne only to be rapidly replaced by new usurpers

Cowboy's
A cowboy is an animal herder who tends cattle on ranches in North America, traditionally on horseback, and often performs a multitude of other ranch-related tasks. The historic American cowboy of the late 19th century arose from the vaquero traditions of northern Mexico and became a figure of special significance and legend.[1] A subtype, called a wrangler, specifically tends the horses used to work cattle. In addition to ranch work, some cowboys work for or participate in rodeos. Cowgirls, first defined as such in the late 19th century, had a less-well documented historical role, but in the modern world have established the ability to work at virtually identical tasks and obtained considerable respect for their achievements.[2] There are also cattle handlers in many other parts of the world, particularly South America and Australia, who perform work similar to the cowboy in their respective nations.

Digital Revolution
The Digital Revolution, known as the Third Industrial Revolution, is the change from mechanical, and electronictechnology to digital technology which began anywhere from the late 1950s to the late 1970s with the adoption and proliferation of digital computers and digital record keeping that continues to the present day.[1] Implicitly, the term also refers to the sweeping changes brought about by digital computing and communication technology during (and after) the latter half of the 20th century. Analogous to the Agricultural Revolution and Industrial Revolution, the Digital Revolution marked the beginning of the Information Age.

Evolution
IDEA 4
While searching for concept artists for my previous idea I discovered this digital art piece by Caroline Goehner. The art is of four concepts each set in different time areas, which appear to be the dinosaur times, the future, 1200s featuring Templar knights and 1700s featuring pirates. Each scene has a moment going on in it; my favourite is the third one with a knight riding the horse mid motion holding a flag. The angle is perfect how you get clear motion of the flag swaying and the horses main flowing in the breeze. Her art is very detailed and realistic; she really focuses on her backgrounds making them close to being like a photo. I have experimented with creating my own landscapes in Photoshop before and I know that you can get environmental brushes that help get this effect. One thing I’ve always struggled with was drawing water and giving it that calm wave effect. Caroline has achieved this though beautifully, the ocean in the second concept looks real and in her fourth piece the ocean is more simplistic but you can see how adding dark lines for ripples and then bright white dots in a line for highlights is the technique she used to create the realistic water effect.
When admiring this art piece this inspired me for a whole new idea based on evolution. As I noted before Caroline’s concepts appear to be all in different time eras, showcasing scenarios that would be going on in them times and it’s very interesting to see. This got me thinking of doing a series of concepts similar to Caroline and do it from the start of human evolution to us currently and then even further into the predicted future and if I really wanted, the last scene could be of the worlds end which would be a very creative and challenging concept piece to produce.
I will research more into evolution and the different time eras. I want have a selection of eras equally spaced apart but with a lot of change between them highlighting important events that went on in these times. I really like the realistic art style in this artwork and so I am also inspired to make my own artwork realistic like this as well. I will have to find more landscape artists to research into, as this concept will involve a lot of detail in landscape drawing.
Thomas Scoles
IDEA 4
One of the things I like so much about Scholes’ work is his ability to blend impressionistic brushwork with a keen sense of three-dimensionality. His paintings are sometimes ambiguous and the textures within them ignore finicky detail, and yet somehow they convey an incredible sense of luminosity and depth that completely enwraps you in the fantasy of that space. Looking at them, you somehow know what it would be like to step into them, what the air would taste like, what it would feel like on your skin.
You can see in the top left image how simplistic the drawing actually is with just coloured shapes making up most of the image, there’s no actual extreme details put into it and yet zoomed out the scene appears detailed and well developed. It shows not everything has to be overly complicated in order for it to be realistic.
Justin Norman
IDEA 4
Justin Normal has an art style which I find to be absolutely stunning and so unique. I love his colour choses especially in the latter two pieces down below with the grainy brown and pink hues. The brown is such a nice natural colour gradient to then contrast against strong bright colours such as the orange, red and bright blue. He hardly uses the colour black in his artwork and instead opts to use a dark brown, except for the outline. This choice adds a very murky and steam punky feel to it and really creates an atmosphere that reminds me a lot like the Bioshock game series universe. With a more realistic and accurate colour scheme choice shown in the first image below you can see how Norman still creates great contrast between them such as with the red highlights on the man’s clothing and face which stands out bold against the complimentary tinted green sky and background.
It’s not only the colour scheme that makes me impressed with Normans work but is actual art style in general. Being an official comic book artist for DC Universe, Norman often draws in that classic DC style of the well-structured faces, winkled clothing and dynamic posing, Notice how in both the latter two art pieces the character is in a very dramatic pose for example in the art work piece on the very right, the man stands at an angle with his left foot placed on a high platform, his arm is then tilted back and the other outstretched pointing a gun, every part of his body is adding dramatic effect to the pose. This is a technique often used in comics as it shows clear action on what the character is doing and is dramatic. Then looking at the first piece on the left the character is in a much looser fluent pose, his facial features very simple with highlights across most of the features in his face. This style has a much more realistic effect and one which I actually prefer for the pieces I want to produce as although I want to set a scene for each of the eras I don’t want it to seem like a forced action scene, I want it to feel more real and casual of how the person really would be acting, no dramatization.
